Enjoy your whiskey the way it was meant to be enjoyed...
I must admit that I was a little bit ashamed to be such a big fan of whiskey without ever hearing of whiskey stones. If you’re also wondering, "What are whiskey stones?" , then you're in good company. I thought I knew almost everything there was to know about drinking whiskey and whiskey accessories, but I was dead wrong.
Whiskey stones are unique products that have come out to fulfill the desires of experienced whiskey aficionados. Most people pour a glass of whiskey and drink it warm, but are not fully satisfied with the taste. So, they add some ice cubes, but pretty soon the ice has melted and diluted their expensive whiskey. On the one hand you don't want your whiskey to be too warm and on the other you don't want to waste perfectly good whiskey by diluting it with water.
If this is ever happened to you, whiskey stones are the solution. They are milled soapstone cubes that you place in your refrigerator in until you need to use them. When you pour out your whiskey, place three stones into the glass. They won't be as cold as an ice cube, but they will slightly chill your glass of whiskey. This will take that alcoholic edge off and allow you to better taste this delicious liquor. For best results, you should wait 5 minutes to let the whiskey chill.
Keep in mind that this is not designed simply to be a replacement for ice. Whiskey is best served in between warm and cold, at a temperature that could best be described as "slightly chill." While whiskey stones do not dilute your whiskey, this is not their primary purpose. Ice would actually get your whiskey to be too cold, ruining the flavor of potentially very old whiskey.
If you are a whiskey connoisseur, then you absolutely need this product. Not only will your liquor taste better, but you will be seen as someone who knows exactly what he or she wants in your liquor experience. There is a lot of tradition involved with hard alcohol drinking, and whiskey stones are just another simple product that makes that experience and tradition so much better.
